Mupirocin is chemically 9-[[(2E)-4-[(2S,3R,4R,5S)-3,4-Dihydroxy-5-[[(2S,3S)-3-[(1S,2S)-2-hydroxy-1-methylpropyl]oxiranyl]methyl] tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl]-3-methylbut-2-enoyl]oxy]nonanoic acid (as per EP); (E)-(2S,3R,4R,5S)-5-[(2S,3S,4S,5S)-2,3-Epoxy-5-hydroxy-4-methylhexyl]tetrahydro-3,4-dihydroxy-β-methyl-2H-pyran-2-crotonic acid, ester with 9-hydroxynonanoic acid (as per USP) . It is also known as Pseudomonic acid ; Turixin ; trans-Pseudomonic acid. Mupirocin is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline. Mupirocin can be used for the analytical method development, method validation (AMV), Quality Controlled (QC) application for Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) or during commercial production of Mupirocin.
