Ceftazidime EP Impurity A is chemically (2RS,6R,7R)-7-[[(2Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-[(1-carboxy-1-methylethoxy)imino]acetyl]amino]-8-oxo-3-[(pyridin-1-ium-1-yl)methyl]-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-3-ene-2-carboxylate penahydrate (As per EP) ; (6R,7R)-7-((Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-(((2-carboxypropan-2-yl)oxy)imino)acetamido)-8-oxo-3-(pyridin-1- ium-1-ylmethyl)-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-3-ene-2-carboxylate penahydrate (as per USP). It is also known as Δ-2-ceftazidime (EP) ; Ceftazidime delta-3-isomer (USP). Ceftazidime EP Impurity A is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline.
