Cilastatin is chemically (Z)-7-[[(2R)-2-amino-2-carboxyethyl]sulfanyl]-2-[[[(1S)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropyl]carbonyl]amino]hept-2-enoic acid (as per EP) ; Ammonium (Z)-7-[[(R)-2-amino-2-carboxyethyl]thio]-2-[(S)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxamido]-2-heptenoic acid (as per USP). Cilastatin is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline. Cilastatin can be used for the analytical method development, method validation (AMV), Quality Controlled (QC) application for Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) or during commercial production of Cilastatin.
