Piperacillin EP Impurity B is chemically (2Ξ,4S)-2-[(Ξ)-carboxy[(2R)-2-(4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carboxamido)-2-phenylacetamido]methyl]-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (as per EP);(2R,4S)-2-{(1R)-Carboxy[2-(4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carboxamido)-2-phenylacetamido]methyl}-5,5-dimethylthiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (as per USP). It is also known as Piperacillin Penicilloic Acid. Piperacillin EP Impurity B is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline. Piperacillin EP Impurity B can be used for the analytical method development, method validation (AMV), Quality Controlled (QC) application for Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) or during commercial production of Piperacillin.
