Emtricitabine is chemically 4-Amino-5-fluoro-1-[(2R,5S)-2-hydroxymethyl)-1,3-oxathiolan-5-yl]-2-(1H-pyrimidinone; (-)-2’,3’-Dideoxy-5-fluoro-3’-thiacytidine; (-)-2’-Deoxy-5-fluoro-3’-thiacytidine . It is also known as Coviracil. Emtricitabine is supplied with detailed characterization data compliant with regulatory guideline. Emtricitabine can be used for the analytical method development, method validation (AMV), Quality Controlled (QC) application for Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) or during commercial production of Emtricitabine.
